Andrew and I ordered our nursery furniture today!! We are so excited! But it's kind of a sad story! We went to JCPenney's Home Store to place the order so that someone there would get commission off the deal. But when we got there, they were trying to charge us $300.00 in shipping fees. We were shocked! Online they were advertising free home shipping on orders over $75.00 and free shipping to store locations on all other orders. They said that even though that's what was being advertised, our purchase was too heavy... that that offer was only applicable to things like pillows (Light weight items). We could however have 15% off, which was the lousy Veterans Day special. We were really confused because that didn't sound like a deal at all. We told the lady that we would have to think about it, do some more looking around, and we would possibly be back. From there, we went home, got online to read the fine print and guess what... that lady was on crack. We ordered our crib/dresser combo and got free HOME delivery... no hassle, no problems, no extra $300.oo. Infact it had a special spot where the print was red that said:
"......-$300.00, FREE SHIPPING TO: our address......"
How sad for the lady who spent 35 minutes explaining to us the JCPenney shipping policies. :(
So, moral of this story. One, stay off crack. It will make you sound stupid and lose money. Two, sometimes online shopping IS the way to go.
